Accornero
Accornero is a Piedmontese producer based in Vignale Monferrato, in the heart of the Monferrato Casalese, a hilly area historically associated with Barbera and Grignolino. The Ca’ Cima estate is situated in a wine-growing landscape characterised by gentle hills, villages with a strong sense of identity, and light-coloured soils of ancient origin, formed by the emergence of the seabed that once covered the Po Valley. Miocene-era sandy and calcareous marls, containing calcium carbonates, silt, clay and bedrock at depth, create an environment particularly suited to vines and contribute to wines of substance, colour and ageing potential.
Accornero’s identity stems from a farming heritage dating back to 1897 and from an understanding of the local area that combines respect for tradition with modern technical methods. The winery adheres faithfully to the classic Monferrato winemaking processes, prioritising the distinct character of the grapes and their connection to the vineyards of Vignale Monferrato. Barbera and Grignolino are the key varieties: the former expresses itself in structured, fresh and savoury styles, whilst the latter precisely captures the finesse of the Monferrato Casalese region, balancing fruit, delicate spice and subtle tannins. The result is a distinct, clear and consistent regional style, in which the Piedmontese character retains its energy, depth and a natural connection to the hills from which it originates.
