Agripunica
Agripunica is a Sardinian producer based in the Lower Sulcis region, in the south-western corner of the island, where the Barrua and Narcao vineyards are set within a landscape strongly influenced by light and the sea. Founded in 2002 as part of a project dedicated to promoting the Sulcis region’s wine-growing potential, it embodies a territory where Carignano thrives, alongside indigenous varieties and French-derived selections that are harmoniously integrated. The wines fall within the Isola dei Nuraghi IGT designation, a name that evokes Sardinia’s rich history, whilst the Carignano del Sulcis DOC area helps to define the region’s characteristic wine-growing profile. The vineyard soils are described as deep, stony and clay-rich; the climate combines mild winters, hot, dry summers and a constant maritime influence, which helps to temper extremes and promote full ripening. The abundant sunshine of south-western Sardinia enhances the quality of the red grapes, promoting colour, structure and tannic maturity. Agripunica’s style stems from this Mediterranean raw material and a technical approach focused on precision: red wines characterised by intensity and smoothness, with polished tannins, controlled extractive richness and an expression that combines the sunny character of the Sulcis region with a clear and recognisable winemaking style.
