Albino Armani
Albino Armani is a producer with deep roots in the Veneto region and in the wine-growing belt linking Valdadige, Valpolicella Classica and Marca Trevigiana. Its identity stems from a tradition of farming dating back to 1607 and finds a particularly significant focal point in Dolcè, along the Adige: a borderland between Veneto and Trentino, nestled between Monte Baldo and Lessinia, where the breezes, the sunlight and the morainic and alluvial soils rich in mineral content favour wines that are crisp, taut and distinctive. Within the context of Valpolicella Classica, the focus on hillside altitudes leads to wines with a fresh, balanced and long-lasting profile, capable of interpreting local tradition with contemporary precision. A distinctive feature of the producer is their work with indigenous grape varieties and ancient varieties from the Adige Valley, in particular Casetta – locally known as Foja Tonda – which has been revived and promoted as an expression of the territory’s identity. The management of the raw material prioritises respect for varietal and environmental characteristics: in reds made from historic grape varieties, for example, winemaking aims to preserve integrity, finesse and personality, with ageing processes consistent with the grape variety’s natural potential. The overall style combines agricultural heritage, research and a sensitivity to the local terroir, giving rise to wines that showcase freshness, savouriness, balance and a strong connection to the Venetian landscapes from which they originate.
