Annibale Alziati
Azienda Agricola Alziati Annibale is a Lombardy-based winery linked to two distinct yet complementary regions: Rovescala, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, and Ome, in Franciacorta. Its identity stems from the combination of the historic tradition of the Pavia hills for red wines made from Croatina, Barbera and Uva Rara grapes, and the Franciacorta tradition of producing Metodo Classico sparkling wines. In Rovescala, the vineyards are situated in a hilly landscape crossed by the 45th parallel, with predominantly calcareous-clay soils and, in some plots, the presence of tuff: conditions that favour red wines with a distinct terroir character, which are deep and capable of evolving over time. The farming approach is geared towards certified organic production and a management style that respects natural balances, with natural grass cover, no forced yields and careful attention to the grapes’ ripening times. In the cellar, an artisanal sensibility prevails: traditional winemaking methods, the use of concrete tanks, prolonged ageing and measured interventions aim to preserve the raw material and its original expression. The wines are characterised by a understated and authentic reflection of the Lombard landscape, with reds that highlight the fruity character, freshness and the rustic yet elegant qualities of the Oltrepò Pavese region, alongside Metodo Classico wines that interpret the Brescia terroir with finesse and naturalness.
