Antoniotti
Antoniotti is a producer from Upper Piedmont with links to Casa del Bosco, in the municipality of Sostegno, within the Bramaterra region. Its identity stems from a secluded hilly area, between the Biella and Vercelli regions, where Nebbiolo – locally known as Spanna – expresses itself differently from the Langhe: more northern in character, taut and deeply connected to the pre-Alpine landscape. The Bramaterra appellation, with vineyards spread across hills dominated by the presence of Monte Rosa and characterised by significant daily temperature variations, favours slow ripening and distinct aromatic profiles, underpinned by freshness and a mineral character.
The focus is on the region’s historic grape varieties: Nebbiolo takes centre stage, accompanied by Croatina, Vespolina and Uva Rara, in keeping with the traditional blends of Upper Piedmont. This combination results in wines with a distinct sense of place, in which the finesse of Nebbiolo is combined with spice, depth and structure. The winemaking approach emphasises an essential and consistent expression of the terroir, with techniques designed to preserve the grapes’ identity and ageing processes that allow the wine to evolve naturally without overshadowing its origins.
Antoniotti’s style is recognisable for its balance between Piedmontese austerity, lively acidity and aromatic complexity. The wines express Bramaterra as a border region appellation: mountainous in spirit, classical in structure, capable of accurately capturing one of the most reserved and distinctive Nebbiolo-growing areas in Piedmont.
