Ar.Pe.Pe. is a leading name in Lombardy’s Valtellina region, associated with Nebbiolo delle Alpi – locally known as Chiavennasca – and a careful understanding of the terraced slopes surrounding Sondrio. Its identity stems from a territory of glacial origin, stretching between the Rhaetian Alps and the Orobie Alps, where the south-facing vineyards bask in sunlight throughout the day and are cooled by alpine breezes. The dry stone walls support soils rich in weathered granite, a harsh yet luminous environment that contributes to the finesse of the fruit and the natural tension of the wines.

The winery operates in the heart of the Valtellina Superiore DOCG region, with a particular focus on the historic sub-regions of Sassella, Grumello and Inferno. Cultivation remains based on manual labour and a very direct relationship with the vines, in keeping with mountain viticulture, which demands precision, consistency and respect for natural rhythms. In the winery, the philosophy favours long ageing periods, gradual maturation and traditional equipment such as large casks, vats and containers capable of nurturing the wine without overshadowing its origins.
