Argiolas
Argiolas is a Sardinian wine producer based in Serdiana, in the Parteolla – a historical and geographical area in the Cagliari hinterland where the vines thrive amidst breezy hills, intense sunlight and a strong Mediterranean character. Its identity stems from its connection to the island and its commitment to interpreting local grape varieties through a contemporary lens, combining the preservation of tradition with agronomic care and technical research. The work in the vineyards showcases the diverse landscapes of southern Sardinia: from the plots near Serdiana, which also include an experimental vineyard dedicated to biodiversity and native grape varieties, to the Sulcis region, where Carignano ripens amidst dunes, junipers, salt spray and wind; right through to Trexenta, where altitude and ventilation foster freshness, balance and elegance. White grape varieties such as Vermentino also thrive in the partly limestone and partly clay soils, whilst Cannonau, Monica, Nuragus, Nasco and other island varieties help to define a distinctive production profile. Argiolas’s approach aims to bring out the uniqueness of the terroir through mature, savoury and Mediterranean wines, capable of combining character, precision and stylistic consistency. Sustainability and experimentation in the vineyard underpin a philosophy focused on making the most of the raw material and preserving Sardinian viticultural diversity.
