Cantina Beccaria

Cantina Beccaria is a Piedmontese wine producer based in Ozzano Monferrato, in the heart of the Monferrato Casalese – an area of vine-covered hills where the culture of wine blends with the landscape of the ‘infernot’ and ‘Pietra da Cantoni’ stone. Founded in the early 1970s as a business dedicated to vine cultivation, it retains an agricultural identity based on the region’s grape varieties and a direct relationship with the raw material. The vineyards are situated between Ozzano and San Giorgio Monferrato, on well-exposed slopes and calcareous soils – conditions that favour red wines of character, capable of combining freshness, structure and a distinct sense of place. The selection of grape varieties reflects the most authentic character of Piedmont, featuring Grignolino, Barbera, Freisa, Nebbiolo, Malvasia and Arneis; Grignolino, a historic variety of the Monferrato Casalese region, is of particular importance: a sensitive and distinctive variety, associated with wines that are dry, spicy and finely tannic. The winemaking approach combines a focus on traditional practices, meticulous care of the vineyard and the judicious use of technology in the cellar, with the aim of enhancing the natural expression of the grapes without distorting their origin. The style of the wines emphasises typicity, balance and a clear reflection of the terroir: reds with a lively, savoury character, and aromatic whites consistent with the Piedmontese tradition, within a vision that interprets Monferrato as a deeply unified agricultural, cultural and wine-growing landscape.
