Producers/ Dario Raccaro
Dario Raccaro
Dario Raccaro is a wine producer from the Collio Goriziano region, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with deep roots in the Cormòns area and on the slopes of Monte Quarin. His identity stems from a close connection with one of the most renowned areas of the Collio appellation, where the region’s long-standing viticultural tradition benefits from natural conditions particularly favourable to the production of white wines with character. The soil, composed of marl and sandstone locally known as ‘ponca’, is a key factor: it helps to give the wines structure, depth and a distinctive mineral character, particularly in the wines made from white grapes.
Production focuses on grape varieties native to the region, with particular emphasis on Friulano and Malvasia Istriana, alongside other varieties traditionally grown in the Collio area. The approach in the vineyard focuses on soil care, respect for natural cycles and sustainable viticulture, understood as harmony with the landscape and local customs. In the cellar, too, a clear understanding of the raw material prevails: gentle pressing, controlled fermentation and ageing processes designed to preserve aromatic precision, balance and length.
Raccaro wines are characterised by a straightforward, terroir-driven profile, in which elegance, body and savouriness interact naturally. The stylistic hallmark is that of an unpretentious and recognisable Collio, capable of combining expressive immediacy with depth, whilst keeping the nature of the grapes and the voice of the ponca at the heart of the wine.
