Ettore Germano
Ettore Germano is a Piedmontese producer based in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, whose identity is built around the vineyard and a precise understanding of the terroir. The estate in Cerretta reflects one of the most significant slopes in the municipality: a hill characterised by favourable exposures and a strong aptitude for the red grape varieties of the Barolo area. Here, Nebbiolo plays a central role, alongside traditional Langhe varieties such as Barbera and Dolcetto, vinified with an approach that seeks clarity, depth and a true expression of the terroir.
The producer’s vision also extends to the Alta Langa, particularly the Cigliè area, where the altitude, white, stony and calcareous soils, and cooler climatic conditions have encouraged a focus on white grapes and Pinot Noir for the Metodo Classico. This dual identity, spanning Serralunga and the Alta Langa, defines a distinctive style: on the one hand, red wines characterised by the structure and tension of Barolo; on the other, white wines and sparkling wines that emphasise freshness, verticality and aromatic precision.
The approach in the vineyard and in the winery combines observation, precision and experimentation, whilst remaining true to the raw material. The result is a range of wines with an artisanal yet contemporary profile, which reinterprets the Langhe tradition through careful technical choices and an openness to the diverse expressions of the Piedmontese terroir.
