Glögglhof - Franz Gojer
Glögglhof – Franz Gojer is a South Tyrolean producer based in Santa Maddalena, in the Bolzano area, one of the iconic centres of red wine production in South Tyrol. Its identity stems from the interplay between the Mediterranean climate of the Bolzano basin and the cool influence of the mountains, in a wine-growing landscape characterised by marked contrasts in altitude, aspect and soil composition. This environment allows for the cultivation of both indigenous varieties and acclimatised grape varieties, with a particular focus on the recognisability of the wine’s origin.
The connection with Santa Maddalena naturally brings to mind Schiava, often paired with Lagrein – two grape varieties that, in this area, express themselves in subtle, fragrant and deeply terroir-driven ways. Alongside the reds, the producer also crafts white wines suited to the cooler conditions of South Tyrol, highlighting the aromatic precision and tension typical of mountain vineyards. The management of the raw material is guided by an understanding of the individual sites: grape processing and ageing are adapted to the characteristics of the vineyards, with the aim of preserving individuality, balance and character.
The style of the wines emphasises clarity, a connection to the terroir and a measured expression. The result is a profile that reflects the dual character of South Tyrol: alpine brightness, Mediterranean ripeness and a keen sensitivity for wines that capture Bolzano and its hills with naturalness and precision.
