Graci
Graci is a Sicilian wine producer based on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, in Passopisciaro, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. Its identity stems from a distinctive wine-growing landscape in the heart of the Alcantara Valley, where the altitude, daily temperature variations and volcanic soil contribute to producing wines that are taut, luminous and deeply expressive of their terroir. The vineyards are spread across key sub-regions such as Arcurìa, Feudo di Mezzo and Barbabecchi, areas capable of expressing different nuances of the same Etna terroir.
The focus is on the traditional grape varieties of Etna, with Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio for the reds and Carricante and Catarratto for the whites. The viticultural approach prioritises respect for the natural balance: interventions in the vineyard and in the cellar are kept to a minimum, with no use of herbicides, with the aim of preserving the vitality of the soil and the distinct character of each vintage. Winemaking choices also follow a restrained and consistent approach, avoiding barriques and favouring large vats and casks, so as to complement the wine without overshadowing the character of the vineyard.
Graci’s style is characterised by precision, structure and fidelity to the Etna landscape. The wines seek to express the natural character of the terroir rather than relying on technical artistry, reflecting the diversity between vineyard plots, altitudes and vintages through a clean, mineral and crisp profile.
