Lungarotti
Lungarotti is one of the most iconic names in Umbrian wine, deeply rooted in Torgiano and its hilly landscape nestled between the Tiber and Chiascio valleys. Set amidst this landscape of vineyards, with Perugia and Assisi serving as geographical and cultural landmarks, the winery has helped to consolidate the oenological profile of a historic appellation, combining local tradition with a production philosophy focused on precision, consistency and an understanding of the terroir.
The project is based in Torgiano and Montefalco, two key areas for Umbrian viticulture and the region’s main wine appellations. In Torgiano, the character of the wines stems from a balance between local grape varieties, hilly soils and a stylistic approach that prioritises freshness, elegance and the potential for ageing. In Montefalco, Sagrantino and the area’s other grape varieties are vinified with particular attention to tannin management, balance and expressive depth.
Sustainability is an integral part of the company’s approach, with practices focused on protecting the ecosystem, biodiversity and responsible viticulture. In the winery, tradition and technology coexist to bring out the best in the raw material without compromising its character. The result is a distinctive style that combines Umbrian rigour, aromatic clarity and a constant connection to the landscape, making Lungarotti a cultural and productive benchmark for Torgiano, Montefalco and the entire region.
