Maison Anselmet

Maison Anselmet is a Aosta Valley wine producer based in Villeneuve, in the Central Valley of the Aosta Valley, an alpine setting where viticulture is deeply rooted in the local terroir. The vineyards are situated on slopes ranging from mid- to high-altitude mountain terrain, in a landscape shaped by the valley’s morainic origins and the presence of the Dora Baltea, with poor, well-drained soils and a ‘V’-shaped topography resulting from ancient glacial activity. This environment, characterised by significant daily temperature variations, intense sunlight and natural ventilation, favours slow ripening and distinct aromatic profiles – key elements in the expression of mountain wines.

The production forms part of the Vallée d’Aoste appellation, showcasing both indigenous grape varieties such as Petit Rouge, Fumin, Cornalin, Mayolet and Muscat, and varieties that have found a unique expression in this region. Maison Anselmet’s approach combines a focus on the raw material, a sensitivity to Alpine identity and ongoing technical research, aimed at interpreting each grape variety without losing its connection to its place of origin. In the cellar, a precise and contemporary vision prevails, characterised by meticulous care in winemaking and ageing, with stylistic choices designed to enhance freshness, depth and definition.

These wines are characterised by a balance between mountainous vigour, expressive intensity and the purity of the fruit. Maison Anselmet thus helps to tell the story of a dynamic wine-growing Aosta Valley, capable of preserving local grape varieties whilst, at the same time, translating the Alpine landscape into wines that are both consistent and distinctive.
