Matteo Correggia
Matteo Correggia is a leading figure in the Roero region of Piedmont, with an identity deeply rooted in the hills of Canale and their ability to offer different perspectives on the same territory. The winery interprets the Roero landscape through vineyards set within a varied environment, where the Rocche, the vine-covered slopes, the woods and the sandy soils all contribute to defining a recognisable profile that is distinct from other wine-growing areas in Piedmont. Work in the vineyard is focused on making the most of the raw material and on environmental sustainability: grass cover, the management of plant residues and careful monitoring of ripening accompany viticultural practices designed to respect the natural balance and integrity of the fruit. Nebbiolo and Arneis find a unique expression here, supported by the finesse of the soils, the mineral character and a hillside climate capable of preserving elegance and tension. In the cellar, the approach aims to preserve the quality of the grapes and to convey the distinct characteristics of individual vineyards through carefully calibrated choices regarding maceration, temperatures, ageing and materials. The style of the wines emphasises precision, delicacy and territorial depth, offering an interpretation of the Roero that combines energy, aromatic finesse and a clear expressive coherence.
