Merumalia
Merumalia is a winery based in Frascati, in Lazio, set within the landscape of the Castelli Romani, amongst vine-covered hills, olive groves and the area of the ancient Lake Regillo. Its identity stems from its connection to a region with a long history of white wine production, where Frascati DOCG finds its expression on volcanic soils rich in potassium, in a Mediterranean climate tempered by breezes and characterised by ample sunshine during the ripening period. The estate operates organically and bases its work on environmental awareness, sustainability and care for the raw materials. In the vineyards, particular emphasis is placed on the traditional varieties of the Frascati area, such as Malvasia del Lazio, Greco Bianco and Bombino, which are considered key to preserving the local character of the appellation. The management of the grapes is geared towards selective production, with an approach that combines respect for tradition with a contemporary sensibility. The style of the wines emphasises freshness, savouriness and aromatic precision, with an interpretation of the terroir that focuses on the mineral character and the natural Mediterranean character of the soils of the Castelli Romani. Merumalia thus stands out as a consistent interpreter of Frascati and the Roman countryside, with wines that seek balance, expressive clarity and continuity with the native varieties of Lazio.
