Pelissero
Pelissero is a Piedmontese producer based in Treiso, in the heart of the Langhe and the Barbaresco DOCG region, a historic appellation where Nebbiolo defines both its identity and its landscape. Production began in 1960 and has developed in keeping with the agricultural culture of the Langhe, maintaining at its core the direct relationship between the vineyard, the raw material and the expression of the terroir. The grapes come from the estate’s own vineyards, and the winemaking process prioritises indigenous varieties typical of these hills, in particular Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, approached through a method that combines local tradition with constant research. The natural setting is an essential part of the style: the hills between Barbaresco and Treiso, the presence of the River Tanaro, the autumn mists, the blue marl and the sandstone outcrops all contribute to a viticultural approach characterised by nuances, exposures and sensitivity to each individual site. In the winery, the approach aims to preserve the precision and character of the raw material, with technical choices focused on controlling fermentation, the use of stainless steel and ageing processes that complement rather than mask the varietal expression. Pelissero’s wines thus reflect a distinctive Langa character, characterised by structure, aromatic depth and a sense of the terroir, with Nebbiolo as the central focus and a stylistic consistency rooted in the balance between rural heritage, attention to detail and a commitment to evolution.
