Podere Poggio Scalette
Podere Poggio Scalette is situated on the hill of Ruffoli, in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, in a part of Tuscany deeply rooted in the landscape of the Chianti Classico region and the Upper Greve Valley. Its identity stems from the combination of a hilly terrain with a strong tradition of wine-growing and a precise understanding of Sangiovese, particularly in the expressions associated with the Lamole vine stock, considered a significant part of the local ampelographic heritage. The presence of mature vineyards and historic plots gives the raw material a central role, with grapes capable of conveying depth, energy and finesse without losing their connection to their origins.
The winemaking approach emphasises careful selection in the vineyard and a winemaking process designed to preserve the fruit’s character, seeking a balance between structure, elegance and a clear expression of the terroir. The setting of Ruffoli, with its hillside exposures and naturally varied terrain, favours wines with an intense yet measured profile, in which Sangiovese can express texture, freshness and aromatic complexity. Podere Poggio Scalette thus interprets the Chianti region of Tuscany with a distinctive style, based on the central importance of the vineyard, meticulous care of the raw material and an essential approach to production, capable of highlighting the character of the Upper Greve Valley.
