Producers/ Prunotto
Prunotto
Prunotto is a Piedmontese producer based in Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, situated at the crossroads between Barolo and Barbaresco and in natural harmony with the vineyard-covered landscapes of the Roero and Monferrato. Its identity stems from a history deeply connected to the Langhe region and is expressed today through a careful interpretation of the vineyards – often divided into small plots and individual crus – where exposure, soil and microclimate guide the management of the raw material.
The production focus is on the grape varieties and appellations that define southern Piedmont: Nebbiolo in its most terroir-driven expressions, Barbera in the Alba and Nizza areas, and Dolcetto, alongside white grapes such as Moscato and Arneis. Monferrato also contributes to a research-oriented approach, focusing on varieties such as Albarossa, in line with a philosophy that combines tradition and experimentation.
In the vineyard, Prunotto prioritises manual care, close observation of the plots and a focus on sustainable agriculture, tailoring its approach to each vintage and the characteristics of the individual wines. In the winery, the use of modern techniques and carefully calibrated ageing processes supports the aim of preserving aromas, structure and varietal character. The result is a distinctively Piedmontese style, based on balance, precision and the ability to convey the diverse nuances of the Langhe and Monferrato regions without losing a sense of territorial continuity.
