Rauten - Salvetta
Rauten - Salvetta is a Trentino-based producer based in Sarche, in the municipality of Madruzzo, within the Valle dei Laghi. Its identity stems from a distinctive soil and climate, characterised by sub-Mediterranean influences that favour the ripening of Nosiola, a native white grape variety of Trentino and the historical basis of Trentino Vino Santo. The Rauten vineyard is described by local sources as a site cultivated according to a long-standing organic tradition, with farming practices geared towards respecting natural cycles and maintaining continuity with local customs.
The production of Salvetta wines is closely linked to the promotion of the Nosiola grape and the revival of traditional methods of growing and processing grapes. Within this context, Vino Santo Trentino represents a central cultural and territorial element: a passito wine made from Nosiola grapes, linked to the wine-growing heritage of the Valle dei Laghi and to artisanal expertise that prioritises extended ageing, natural decanting and measured interventions. Even the still Nosiola evokes the idea of an unpretentious, terroir-driven wine, capable of conveying the grape variety’s delicate aromas and its natural inclination towards finesse.
Within the Trentino wine scene, Rauten - Salvetta stands out for its consistency, rooted in its deep-seated connection to the local area, organic farming and the preservation of a highly distinctive local winemaking tradition, in which the raw ingredients remain at the heart of the wine’s stylistic expression.
