Ronc dai Luchis
Ronc dai Luchis is a producer from Friuli Venezia Giulia based in Faedis, in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, a hilly area in the province of Udine where viticulture is shaped by the slopes, breezy exposures and a strong varietal identity. The name evokes the area’s agricultural character and its connection to a hill historically planted with vines; the continuity of cultivation on the same land, documented for over two and a half centuries, gives the winery a deeply regional character, rooted more in continuity than in the pursuit of immediate stylistic effects.
The winery’s identity is based on grape varieties representative of the Friulian tradition and the Colli Orientali region, including Friulano, Verduzzo Friulano, Picolit and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, alongside varieties that have historically been grown in the area. Of particular note is Refosco di Faedis, a local expression that links the producer to one of the region’s most recognisable wines. The raw material is crafted using an approach that combines traditional methods with contemporary winemaking technologies, aiming to produce wines that retain varietal clarity, balance and a true reflection of their origin.
The white wines showcase Friuli’s signature freshness, a balanced aromatic profile and precision on the palate; the reds offer structure, character and a distinct sense of terroir. Ronc dai Luchis thus represents an authentic expression of the Colli Orientali region, dedicated to showcasing grape varieties, agricultural heritage and local distinctiveness.
