Sartarelli
Sartarelli is a winery in the Marche region with strong ties to Verdicchio, a grape variety that defines its winemaking identity and its relationship with the local area. It is based in Poggio San Marcello, in the hills of the Ancona hinterland, on the left bank of the River Esino: a central area within the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classica zone, where the hillside exposures, ventilation and natural gradient of the slopes combine to produce white wines with a strong sense of place.
The decision to focus exclusively on Verdicchio makes Sartarelli’s work particularly distinctive. The grapes come from vineyards situated in the appellation’s historic districts, where the grape variety finds conditions suited to expressing freshness, depth and the potential for development. The winemaking approach centres on understanding the characteristics of the different plots and ensuring continuity between vineyard and cellar, with a stylistic focus on precision, aromatic purity and the enhancement of the grapes’ natural structure.
In Sartarelli’s wines, Verdicchio expresses itself with a crisp and consistent profile, characterised by a balance between savoury intensity, fruity finesse and mineral character. The winery thus represents a strongly regional voice from the Marche, capable of showcasing the Castelli di Jesi through a rare specialisation and a production philosophy faithful to the grape variety that symbolises this part of the region.
