Stefano Mancinelli
Stefano Mancinelli is a winemaker from the Marche region, based in the hills of Morro d’Alba, in the province of Ancona, in an inland area close to the Adriatic Sea and historically linked to the Lacrima di Morro d’Alba DOC. The vineyard landscape is characterised by gentle slopes exposed to the influence of the sea, with a mild climate, hot summers and soils of calcarenite-pelitic or pelitic-clay composition – conditions that support consistent ripening and give the grapes a distinct aromatic profile.
The winery’s identity is built primarily around showcasing the region’s grape varieties, in particular Lacrima and Verdicchio. Lacrima, a native black grape variety, finds one of its most characteristic expressions in Morro d’Alba: wines with an intense colour, a distinct floral profile with hints of rose and violet, and a fruity component reminiscent of small red berries and black cherries. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico completes the link with the winemaking tradition of the Ancona area.
The winemaking approach prioritises careful management of the raw material in the vineyard, with yields naturally limited through pruning and thinning, and harvests carried out in several stages to select the grapes at the most suitable time. In the winery, traditional methods and modern equipment are combined to preserve the wine’s distinctive character, precision and purity of expression. The result is a consistent, terroir-driven and recognisable style, which brings to the fore the aromatic profile of Lacrima and the balance characteristic of wines from the Marche hills.
