Tenuta Cocci Grifoni
Tenuta Cocci Grifoni is a Marche-based estate based in San Savino di Ripatransone, in the heart of the Piceno region, where the hills overlook the Adriatic and are influenced by the Sibillini Mountains. In operation since 1933, it has built its identity around the preservation of the agricultural landscape and the promotion of native grape varieties, playing a particularly prominent role in the revival of Pecorino, seen as an authentic expression of the Offida region. Alongside Pecorino and Passerina, the estate’s profile is also linked to the red wines of the Piceno region, striking a balance between local tradition and a contemporary approach to wine.
Work in the vineyard is guided by the principle of ‘honest agriculture’, based on respect for the land, measured interventions and certified organic farming practices. A focus on biodiversity, soil fertility and agronomic sustainability translates into practices such as grass cover, ecosystem protection and a responsible approach to plant protection. Research also extends to resistant grape varieties and energy-saving winemaking protocols.
The style of the wines emphasises territorial character, freshness and precision on the palate. The winemaking process aims to preserve the character of the grapes and bring out salinity, tension and aromatic finesse in the whites, whilst in the reds, the Piceno region finds a solid and consistent expression. The result is a clear identity, linked to the nature of the terroir and a sustainable approach to winemaking.
