Tenuta di Lilliano
Tenuta di Lilliano is situated in Lilliano, in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti, in one of the historic areas of the Chianti Classico appellation. Its identity stems from its connection to a medieval village and a bottling business established in 1958, but is expressed above all through a precise interpretation of the Chianti landscape. The vineyards are situated on slopes with varying exposures, where Sangiovese plays a central role alongside carefully selected native and international grape varieties. The soil and climate conditions are well-balanced: relatively warm summers promote ripeness and concentration, whilst moderate rainfall and soils derived from Alberese—rich in mineral content, calcareous and generally clay-like—help to preserve acidity and aromatic freshness. In the cellar, the approach remains consistent with the estate’s raw material: controlled fermentations, and the use of concrete, stainless steel and oak barrels according to the different ageing requirements, with the aim of enhancing structure, precision and territorial character. The style of the wines emphasises the profile of Sangiovese from Castellina in Chianti, with floral notes, fresh fruit, well-integrated acidity and a tannic structure capable of supporting the wine’s development. Tenuta di Lilliano thus interprets Chianti Classico with a grounded, measured approach, attentive to the balance between geological character, fruit ripeness and expressive freshness.
