Tenuta Fontana
Tenuta Fontana is a Campania-based winery rooted in a region that spans the Agro Aversano, the Benevento area and the Caserta area – regions where viticulture retains a strong link to ancient agricultural traditions and to indigenous grape varieties with a distinct identity. Its production philosophy centres primarily on promoting Asprinio, a historic white grape variety from the Aversano area, which has been revived and reinterpreted using the ‘alberata’ method – a traditional training system that is a distinctive feature of the local vineyard landscape. Alongside this regional focus, the winery works with Campania grapes such as Falanghina, Sciascinoso and Aglianico, maintaining a commitment to regional raw materials and continuity with Campania’s winemaking culture.
Tenuta Fontana’s approach combines agricultural heritage with technical expertise. The restoration of historic vineyards – including those in areas of outstanding scenic value such as the Oasi di San Silvestro near the Royal Palace of Caserta – is accompanied by soil analysis, the careful selection of rootstocks, attention to aspect and organic agro-environmental management. The result is a style that seeks freshness, aromatic definition and true expression of the grape variety in the whites, whilst in the reds it prioritises structure, depth and the distinctive character of Campania. The winery thus offers a contemporary interpretation of diverse yet complementary terroirs, with wines designed to reflect the region’s character, biodiversity and winemaking heritage.
