Terenzuola
Terenzuola is a producer based in Fosdinovo, in northern Tuscany, in a border region where the historic Lunigiana links the Ligurian Mediterranean, the Colli di Luni hills and the foothills of the Apuan Alps. Its work focuses on a highly distinctive regional mosaic: from the soils of the Colli di Luni, shaped by the interplay of sand, clay, schist, sandstone and limestone, to the Candia region, in the shadow of the marble quarries between Massa and Carrara, and the terraced slopes of the Cinque Terre. In this context, Vermentino plays a central role, alongside local white and red grape varieties that reflect the biodiversity of the Apuan and Lunigiana coasts.
The agricultural approach prioritises respect for the landscape and organic vineyard management, with a focus on soil health, grass cover, organic fertilisation, green manure and measured pest control practices. The restoration of old vineyards, mass selection and high-density planting are all part of a vision that aims to preserve natural balance, varietal identity and terroir-specific character.
In the winery, the philosophy remains focused on minimising intervention: grapes harvested at full ripeness, spontaneous fermentation, prolonged maceration and winemaking techniques designed to preserve the connection between the grapes, the soil and the vintage. The result is wines with a distinct terroir character, in which freshness, savouriness, mineral texture and elegance reflect the complexity of a landscape nestled between the sea, the hills and the mountains.
