Terrazze Singhie
Terrazze Singhie is a Ligurian producer based in Orco Feglino, in the Savona hinterland, amidst a hilly landscape characterised by historic terraces and dry-stone walls. The project took shape in 2017, driven by a desire to preserve an ancient vineyard nestled in the woods and to interpret Liguria through organic and natural viticulture, rooted in the strong geographical identity of the inland Riviera di Ponente. The vineyard is situated on a terraced hillside at an altitude of around 300 metres, in a landscape characterised by chestnut trees, rock and slopes that require careful, manual cultivation.
At the heart of the winery’s identity lies Lumassina, a native grape variety from the Savona area, grown in a limited region and particularly representative of these valleys. Alongside the central role of this grape variety, the approach in the vineyard follows biodynamic principles, with the aim of respecting the natural balance of the terroir and preserving the vitality of the raw material. In the winery, the winemaking process remains straightforward: fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the use of small steel tanks, and ageing that may involve oak, without altering the grapes’ original character.
The wines of Terrazze Singhie thus offer a clear and territorial interpretation of Liguria: freshness, savouriness and mineral tension emerge as consistent characteristics of a austere yet luminous wine-growing landscape, where care for the vineyard and the promotion of local grape varieties serve as instruments of cultural continuity.
