Producers/ Val delle Corti
Val delle Corti
Val delle Corti is situated in Radda in Chianti, on the Siena side of the Chianti Classico region, and interprets one of the appellation’s most distinctive areas through a restrained, agricultural approach that is deeply rooted in Sangiovese. The producer’s identity stems from its relationship with an ancient hilly landscape, at the foot of Monte alla Croce, where viticulture is experienced as a cultural continuity and as a patient observation of the land. The vineyards are situated on marl-limestone soils, rich in structural elements and with a pronounced mineral character, typical of Radda; the altitude, ranging from approximately 420 to 490 metres, and the east-facing aspect favour bright yet balanced ripening, with morning sun and evening shade – now particularly valuable. Certified organic cultivation, supplemented in part by biodynamic practices, embodies a philosophy of respect for nature and of celebrating Radda’s ‘genius loci’. In the cellar, the approach remains consistent with this vision: fermentation in stainless steel, natural yeasts, careful handling of the skins and ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels accompany the raw material without forcing its character. The wines display a distinct Chianti profile, centred on freshness, harmonious fruit, lively acidity, savoury texture and elegance, with Sangiovese as the expressive backbone and a measured presence of Canaiolo that echoes local tradition.
