Velenosi
Velenosi is a producer from the Marche region, based in Ascoli Piceno, in the heart of the Piceno area, where viticulture strikes a natural balance between the rolling hills, the influence of the Adriatic Sea and the Tronto Valley. The winery was founded in 1984 and interprets this territory through a contemporary take on its wine appellations, with a particular focus on Offida DOCG, Rosso Piceno and Falerio – key expressions of the wine identity of the southern Marche region.
The vineyards are set amidst a landscape of fertile hills, with clayey soils and climatic conditions favoured by the proximity of the sea and the moderate altitude of the Ascoli area. In this setting, grape varieties with strong links to the Adriatic coast and the traditions of the Marche region thrive, such as Pecorino, Passerina, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Verdicchio and Lacrima, alongside international varieties cultivated in a way that reflects the local terroir.
The winemaking philosophy combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, whilst constantly seeking a balance between fruit ripeness, aromatic clarity and consistent expression. The white wines focus on freshness, savouriness and varietal precision, whilst the reds emphasise structure, fruity richness and tannic complexity, particularly in the wines made from Montepulciano and Sangiovese. Velenosi’s overall approach conveys a solid and recognisable vision of Marche wine, capable of linking the character of the Piceno region to a refined, modern style that remains true to the raw ingredients.
