Vestini Campagnano
Vestini Campagnano is a Campania-based winery with strong ties to the Terra di Lavoro region and the province of Caserta, whose identity is built around the promotion of indigenous grape varieties and the direct cultivation of its raw materials. The winery is particularly renowned for its revival and reinterpretation of Pallagrello and Casavecchia, historic grape varieties of the Caserta area that are produced within the Terre del Volturno IGT region. The vineyards in Caiazzo, in the hamlet of San Giovanni e Paolo, are situated between Taburno and Matese, amidst breezy, sun-drenched hills, where the River Volturno helps to define the wine-growing landscape. Here, the soils contain sandy, clayey and calcareous components, with a mineral richness that produces wines of structure, freshness and territorial character. A second key site is Conca della Campania, within the Galluccio DOC area, on the slopes of the extinct Roccamonfina volcano: a hilly environment characterised by lava deposits and soils of a clay-limestone, clay-sandy and medium-textured composition. The winemaking style prioritises a clear expression of the grapes, with vinification processes designed to maintain a connection to the terroir and, where appropriate, ageing in wood used to impart balance and depth. The result is a consistent profile, in which the reds made from Pallagrello and Casavecchia express intensity, spicy notes and ripeness, whilst the whites retain a character defined by freshness and aromatic precision.
