Villa Bucci
Villa Bucci is a winery in the Marche region with deep ties to the Castelli di Jesi and to Verdicchio, a grape variety that finds one of its most distinctive expressions here. The winery is based in Ostra Vetere, in the hinterland just a few kilometres from the Adriatic Sea, in a hilly landscape that combines the influence of the sea with the agricultural character of the central Marche region. The vineyards stretch across Serra de’ Conti, Montecarotto and Ostra Vetere, areas that help define an identity rooted in balance, finesse and a deep connection to the land.
The natural environment is characterised by limestone and clay soils, which produce wines with structure and mineral tension, whilst the breezes from the Adriatic temper the sunniest days and ensure cool nights. Verdicchio remains the cornerstone of the estate’s production, complemented by traditional red grape varieties such as Sangiovese and Montepulciano, always in keeping with the landscape of the Marche region.
The winemaking approach prioritises natural vine cultivation and careful management of the raw material. In the cellar, the use of large, pre-seasoned Slavonian oak vats allows the wines to evolve through slow micro-oxygenation, without overpowering their character. The result is a refined and profound style, in which complexity, elegance and minerality combine to create a distinct and long-lasting expression of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
