Volpe Pasini
Volpe Pasini is a long-established winery in Friuli Venezia Giulia, based in Togliano di Torreano, in the heart of the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC. Its identity stems from a long-standing connection with local viticulture: the estate’s existence has been documented since the time of the Venetian Republic, and the first reliable records of wine production date back to the 18th century. This historical background is set against a hilly landscape between Udine and Cividale, where the vines thrive thanks to the protection of the Julian Alps, the breezes from the Adriatic and a mosaic of microclimates that foster slow ripening and well-defined aromatic profiles. The soils of the Colli Orientali, characterised by marl and sandstone of Eocene origin – locally known as ‘ponca’ – contribute to wines with a mineral character, a distinctive freshness and a natural tendency towards balance. Volpe Pasini’s winemaking approach honours both Friulian tradition and a precise oenological vision, focused on expressive purity, originality, longevity and drinkability. Indigenous grape varieties and those historically integrated into the regional landscape are interpreted with a focus on the raw material, seeking aromatic clarity, territorial coherence and stylistic restraint. The result is a range of wines that reflects the character of the Colli Orientali: elegant, approachable wines that combine depth, freshness and cultural continuity in one of Friuli’s most renowned wine-growing areas.
