Moscato di Sennori refers to the regional selection of white Moscato grown in the Romangia area, in northern Sardinia, particularly in the municipalities of Sorso and Sennori. It is a grape variety of ancient origin, traceable to the tradition of Mediterranean Moscato wines already known in Roman times, when its sweet and fragrant grapes were associated with *vitis apiana*, so named for the attraction it exerted on insects. The leaf is medium-sized, generally pentagonal, trilobed or pentalobed; the bunch is medium-sized, cylindrical-pyramidal, often winged, ranging from compact to semi-sprawling. The berries are medium-sized, spherical or slightly flattened, with a thin, slightly pruinose skin, green-yellow in colour, tending towards golden as they ripen. The growing area encompasses the sunny, breezy hills of Romangia, characterised by dry, calcareous soils and traditional bush-trained vines. The wine displays golden-yellow hues and an intense, floral and fruity aromatic profile, with notes of ripe citrus, yellow fruit, honey, almond and dried fruit. On the palate, it is sweet, full-bodied and velvety, underpinned by a pleasant freshness. The passito and fortified versions, which are more concentrated and structured, develop particular complexity and good ageing potential, whilst the sparkling variant enhances the aromatic profile in a more fragrant and delicate form.
