Braida
Braida is a Piedmontese producer based in Rocchetta Tanaro, in the Asti area, a hilly region that lies at the historic heart of the Barbera wine-growing region. Its identity stems from its close ties to the Monferrato region and a wine-growing landscape where the aspect, moderate altitudes and marl and sandy soils favour grapes capable of combining ripeness, freshness and aromatic depth.
The cornerstone of the winery’s range is Barbera d’Asti, viewed not merely as a wine to be enjoyed immediately, but as a grape variety with character, structure and ageing potential. This approach has helped to redefine perceptions of Piedmontese Barbera, highlighting its lively acidity, rich fruitiness and ability to withstand more ambitious winemaking and ageing processes without losing its territorial identity.
The winemaking approach prioritises a precise understanding of the raw material, with a focus on the ripening of the grapes and cellar practices designed to highlight the wine’s body, the purity of its aromatic profile and the balance between intensity and drinkability. Alongside Barbera, the terroir of south-eastern Piedmont also allows for the expression of aromatic grape varieties and traditional local varieties, always within a coherent vision of the region.
Braida wines are characterised by their fullness, distinct fruitiness and a broad yet well-structured palate. Their wines tell the story of Monferrato through solid, expressive wines that are deeply rooted in Asti’s wine-growing culture.
