Ca' del Bosco
Ca’ del Bosco is one of Franciacorta’s leading names, based in Erbusco, amidst the hilly landscape of the Brescia area overlooking Lake Iseo. Its identity stems from the interplay between the tradition of the bottle-fermented method and constant technical innovation, focused above all on the quality of the raw materials. In a region characterised by morainic hills, varied soils and a climate tempered by the presence of the lake, the winery interprets the appellation through a precise understanding of the vineyards and their individual characteristics.
The vineyard has been certified organic since 2014 and is based on an in-depth study of the soils of Franciacorta, with the aim of preserving their balance and biodiversity. The care taken with the grapes continues in the winery through a very rigorous process: hand-harvesting, transport in small crates, cooling prior to pressing, selection of the bunches and gentle pressing at low temperature. A distinctive feature is the grape washing and drying system introduced for the 2008 harvest, designed to produce cleaner musts and enhance the aromatic expression of the fruit and the soils.
Ca’ del Bosco’s style emphasises precision, purity and distinctiveness. The separate vinification of the finest musts from individual vineyards, the attention paid to dégorgement and the aim to keep sulphite levels to a minimum all contribute to Franciacorta wines that are fragrant, elegant and mineral, and true to the character of the terroir.
