Cascina delle Terre Rosse
Cascina delle Terre Rosse is a Ligurian wine producer based in the Ponente region, in the municipality of Finale Ligure, on the Manie plateau. The setting is the Savona hinterland overlooking the Riviera, a landscape where the proximity of the sea interacts with the Mediterranean scrub and with a viticultural tradition historically adapted to bright, breezy and dry conditions. The vineyards are situated on red soils of a silty-clay composition, characterised by a high mineral content, within a microclimate favourable to vines and olive trees.
The estate’s identity is linked to the Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC and the area’s traditional grape varieties, in particular Pigato and Vermentino for the whites, alongside local and regional varieties such as Rossese and Lumassina. The farming approach prioritises practices that respect the soil and the vines, with organic cultivation and the absence of herbicides and chemical fertilisers, reflecting a genuine commitment to the balance of the vineyard environment.
In the winery, the approach seems geared towards bringing out the best in the raw material through meticulous winemaking, controlled fermentation and stylistic choices that preserve varietal clarity, freshness and depth. The wines express a understated yet recognisable Mediterranean character, with profiles evoking aromatic herbs, fruit, savoury notes and a hint of the sea. Cascina delle Terre Rosse thus offers a coherent interpretation of western Liguria, successfully combining winemaking tradition, expressive precision and a strong connection to the Finale area.
