Cleto Chiarli
Cleto Chiarli is a historic name in the world of Emilian wine, with links to Modena and the culture of Lambrusco dating back to 1860. Its identity has its roots in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, in a region where viticulture harmonises with the plains, hills and the first undulating slopes of the Apennines, giving different expressions to the main characteristics of Modena’s Lambrusco. The reference to Sorbara evokes wines with a light-bodied texture, bright colour and fragrant profile, whilst the Castelvetro area showcases Grasparossa, an ancient grape variety associated with a more intense character, pronounced fruitiness and natural flavour.
The winemaking approach focuses on the distinct character of the raw material and its expressive freshness, offering an interpretation of Lambrusco that combines local tradition with technical precision. The effervescence, the liveliness on the palate and the fruitiness are not treated merely as stylistic elements, but as tools to convey the connection between the grape variety, the appellation and the Modena landscape. Within this framework, the winery interprets the different expressions of Lambrusco with a focus on aromatic purity, balance and consistency of flavour.
Cleto Chiarli’s role within the region is that of a producer deeply rooted in the history of Emilian wine, capable of contributing to the cultural continuity of Lambrusco whilst maintaining a clear and contemporary perspective. The wines express a direct, terroir-driven and dynamic profile, characterised by freshness, fragrance and the identity of Modena.
