Di Majo Norante
Di Majo Norante is a leading name in Molise’s wine industry, with deep roots in the Campomarino area, in the Ramitello district, to the north of the Gargano promontory. Vine cultivation has been documented in the estate’s history since the nineteenth century, but the producer’s contemporary identity is defined above all by its relationship with the Molise landscape: hills close to the Adriatic, clay soils with sandy components, and summer breezes that favour expressive and well-balanced ripening. This soil and climate context lends the wines a Mediterranean character, linked both to the region’s appellations – such as Molise DOC, Biferno DOC and Tintilia del Molise DOC – and to the promotion of southern and local grape varieties. Tintilia, Aglianico, Montepulciano and Sangiovese form the backbone of the reds, whilst Falanghina, Greco and Moscato Reale represent the white and aromatic side of the production. The agricultural approach prioritises organic practices and careful management of biodiversity: natural grass cover, naturally sourced fertilisers, non-invasive pest control and manual grape selection accompany the growing cycle. In the winery, the winemaking technique is geared towards preserving the character of the raw material, without shying away from modern tools when these help to refine the expression of the fruit. The result is a recognisable style, based on wines with a sunny, textured and terroir-driven profile, capable of combining Molise’s agricultural tradition with a consistent exploration of the grape varieties best suited to its natural conditions.
