Firmino Miotti
Firmino Miotti is a long-established winery in Breganze, in the Vicenza area of Veneto, with deep-rooted links to the Breganze DOC and its agricultural tradition. The winery’s roots date back to the second half of the nineteenth century and are carried forward through a philosophy centred on the vineyard, the care of the raw materials and a faithful interpretation of the terroir. The setting is the Vicenza foothills, amongst the hills and plains within the area of the Astico and Brenta rivers, where volcanic soils and a mild, dry climate help to define wines with a distinct and recognisable character.
The winery’s identity is closely linked to Breganze, the Vespaiola and the local grape varieties that bear witness to an ancient viticultural tradition, including some of the area’s historic grapes such as Gruajo, Groppello, Pedevendo and Sampagna. The winery interprets this heritage through an approach that combines respect for tradition with technical expertise, enhancing the grapes’ expressiveness without removing them from their natural context.
The tradition of grape drying also plays a central role; this practice is deeply rooted in the appellation and linked to the Vespaiola grape variety, which is capable of expressing concentration, balance and aromatic complexity. Overall, Firmino Miotti’s wines are distinguished by a consistent terroir-driven profile: freshness, restraint, intensity and a distinct hillside character come together in a style that prioritises authenticity, continuity and the recognisable character of the Breganze DOC.
