Producers/ La Felce
La Felce
La Felce is a Ligurian wine producer based in Ortonovo, in the province of La Spezia, in the eastern part of the region, where the Lunigiana meets the Colli di Luni area and is influenced by the Ligurian Sea. Its identity stems from a down-to-earth approach to agriculture, rooted in the land and the continuity of local viticulture, with a company history dating back to the post-war period and, since 1998, taking on a more defined form through wine production.
The soil and climate conditions are crucial: vineyards spread across hilly and flat areas, with varying exposures and soils ranging from clayey to sandy and stony, all contribute to a multifaceted understanding of the territory. Vermentino plays a central role, alongside other traditional varieties of the area such as Trebbiano, Malvasia and Albarola, as well as red grape varieties found in local viticulture, including Massaretta, Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
The approach to viticulture prioritises organic practices, a focus on soil vitality and measured interventions. In the winery, winemaking follows an artisanal and minimally invasive approach: spontaneous fermentation, the use of indigenous yeasts, simple containers and, in some cases, skin contact even for white wines. The result is a direct, terroir-driven style, in which freshness, a hint of saltiness, Mediterranean character and mineral precision combine to create wines with a distinctive profile, naturally reflecting the character of eastern Liguria.
