Marco Carpineti

Marco Carpineti is an organic farm in Lazio, based in Cori, on the slopes of the Lepini Mountains overlooking the Agro Pontino and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its identity stems from the combination of a hilly landscape with a long tradition of wine-growing and a production approach focused on sustainability, with organic farming having begun in the 1990s and ongoing research into low-impact agricultural practices. The vineyards are situated in areas such as Capolemole, Pezze di Ninfa and San Pietro, where sunny exposures, westerly breezes and significant variations in soil type help to define distinct, terroir-driven profiles.

The soil profile is particularly significant: the area features a mix of volcanic and tuffaceous substrates, mineral skeleton, and calcareous and clayey components – elements that contribute to the wine’s freshness, savouriness and expressive depth. In this environment, the estate focuses primarily on varieties linked to the traditions of Cori and the Lazio region, including Bellone, Nero Buono, Greco Moro and Greco Giallo, alongside other grape varieties historically grown in the area.

The winemaking philosophy prioritises an understanding of the raw material and continuity between vineyard and cellar. Fermentation, ageing and experimentation – including ageing in amphorae and the classic method using local grapes – are employed as tools to highlight varietal character, mineral energy and aromatic precision. The result is a distinctive style that captures the essence of Cori and the DOC of the same name through wines with a Mediterranean character – dry, savoury and firmly rooted in their origins.
