Mustilli
Mustilli is a Campania-based producer with links to Sant’Agata dei Goti, in the Benevento area, where the Sannio landscape meets the hills at the foot of Mount Taburno. Its identity is closely linked to the rediscovery of Falanghina: in 1979, the winery bottled one of the first single-varietal wines made from this grape, playing a decisive role in establishing it as the region’s signature grape. Alongside Falanghina, the winery’s work showcases other historic Campania grape varieties such as Greco, Aglianico and Piedirosso, crafted with a focus on their local character.
The vineyards are situated in the Sant’Agata dei Goti area, in a hilly landscape characterised by favourable exposures and soils of a calcareous, volcanic and clayey nature – elements that combine to produce wines with a strong sense of place. The winemaking approach prioritises the expression of the grape variety and precision of flavour: temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, careful management of the fine lees and the targeted use of ageing techniques help to preserve the wine’s freshness, aromatic profile and savoury tension.
Mustilli’s stylistic signature combines tradition and technical precision. The wines seek a balance between Mediterranean immediacy, Apennine character and varietal depth, with a distinctive character rooted in the promotion of native grape varieties and the connection to the Sant’Agata dei Goti appellation and the wider wine-growing heritage of the Sannio region.
