Producers/ Palazzo Tronconi
Palazzo Tronconi
Palazzo Tronconi is a Lazio-based producer based in Arce, in the heart of the Ciociaria, a region of the Frusinate where viticulture retains a deep connection with local grape varieties and the rolling countryside. Its identity stems from the promotion of Arce’s ancient grape varieties, an agricultural heritage that includes red grapes such as Lecinaro and Ulivello nero and white grapes such as Pampanaro, Capolongo and Maturano bianco, alongside regional varieties from Lazio and the Mediterranean such as Malvasia Puntinata and Moscato di Terracina. Work in the vineyard follows the principles of biodynamic agriculture, with a focus on soil fertility, natural cycles and management practices that exclude the use of synthetic chemicals. Organic and biodynamic certification confirms a commitment to sustainable viticulture that is in harmony with the local environment. In the cellar, the approach remains minimalist: fermentation is spontaneous, and ageing may take place in concrete, terracotta, oak or acacia, without fining, filtration or invasive treatments. The result is a style that prioritises the integrity of the raw material, varietal expression and a clear reflection of the terroir. The wines of Palazzo Tronconi thus tell the story of an agricultural yet contemporary Ciociaria, capable of reviving historic grape varieties and interpreting them with natural sensitivity, balance and distinctiveness.
