Possa

Possa is a Ligurian producer based in Riomaggiore, amidst the rugged landscape of the Cinque Terre, where viticulture takes on a simple yet deeply regional character. The vineyards stretch across terraces overlooking the Ligurian Sea, amidst dry-stone walls, steep slopes and largely manual cultivation: a setting that demands consistency, attention to the soil and the ability to interpret each plot without forcing the issue. The reference to ‘heroic’ viticulture is not merely geographical, but describes a way of preserving a fragile balance, made up of rock, wind, sea light and biodiversity.

The character of the wines stems from this extreme environment and from the desire to express the Cinque Terre through minimal intervention. In the cellar, the approach favours spontaneous fermentation wherever possible, the measured use of sulphur dioxide and carefully calibrated ageing in steel, wood or amphorae, with the aim of complementing the raw material rather than altering it. The profiles are true to the terroir: whites with a briny edge, Mediterranean wines characterised by freshness and a hint of the sea, expressions that capture the minerality of the terraces and the finesse imparted by the sea breeze.
