San Salvatore 1988
San Salvatore 1988 is a Campania-based winery with deep roots in the Cilento region, situated between the Paestum area, the inland hills and the landscape of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park. Its identity stems from a Mediterranean terroir where the proximity of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the brightness of the South and the interplay between plains, hills and inland areas all contribute to shaping grapes of strong character and wines that clearly reflect their terroir. The winery interprets this terroir through organic production and a farming philosophy focused on sustainability, with attention to soil vitality, consistent cultivation practices and a balanced relationship between the vineyard and the natural environment. The focus is primarily on Campania’s native grape varieties, with Aglianico, Fiano, Greco and Falanghina as the key varieties, showcased within the appellations and designations associated with Paestum, Cilento and Campania. The style of the wines combines a Mediterranean character, technical precision and a quest for expressive depth: the whites emphasise freshness, tension and aromatic depth, whilst the reds and rosés made from Aglianico highlight energy, body and a distinctive saline elegance. San Salvatore 1988 thus contributes to a contemporary vision of Cilento’s wine-growing heritage, capable of linking agricultural roots, the landscape and a modern approach to winemaking.
