Spiriti Ebbri

Spiriti Ebbri is a Calabrian producer based in the Cosenza area, with roots in the region between Celico and Spezzano Piccolo, where viticulture is characterised by an exploration of the local terroir and a focus on reviving local grape varieties. The winery was founded with the aim of restoring the Calabrian vine to centre stage, working with the region’s historic grape varieties and pursuing a vision of wine capable of expressing energy, rusticity and precision without artificiality. The ampelographic heritage it celebrates includes grapes such as Magliocco, Gaglioppo, Greco nero, Greco bianco, Mantonico, Pecorello and Guarnaccia nera, vinified in a way that respects the identity of each grape variety and the characteristics of the vintage.

The approach to viticulture is focused on organic and biodynamic methods, with vineyard management that prioritises soil vitality and low-impact practices, including green manure. In the winery, this same consistency is reflected in spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, limited use of technical interventions, and no filtration or filtration reduced to a minimum. Separate vinification and ageing in used oak contribute to preserving varietal character, balance and depth.

The style of Spiriti Ebbri’s wines reflects the authentic, inland character of Calabria, shaped by indigenous grape varieties, a Mediterranean climate and a contemporary sensibility. The result is a range of wines with a distinct personality, in which the natural element is not a mere formality, but a means of giving voice to the terroir and its complexity.
