Statti
Statti is a Calabrian producer based in the Lamezia Terme plain, in the agricultural heart of the region and in an area with a long history of wine-growing. Its identity stems from its ongoing relationship with a diverse rural landscape, where vines grow alongside other Mediterranean crops and contribute to an integrated approach to agriculture. The Lamezia DOC region, stretching between the Sant’Eufemia Plain and the southern slopes of the Reventino massif, offers sedimentary soils, coastal influences and a Mediterranean climate with dry summers – elements that favour gradual ripening and a distinctive terroir character.
Work in the vineyard is central to Statti’s philosophy: attention to training systems, selection at harvest, green pruning and the pursuit of balanced yields are all aimed at preserving the quality of the raw material. The vineyards are home to grape varieties deeply rooted in Calabrian tradition, including Mantonico, Greco and Gaglioppo, which are cultivated with a focus on their natural expressiveness. The use of organic matter sourced from the estate’s own agricultural cycle underlines an approach that prioritises soil fertility and the sustainability of the rural environment.
The wines’ style emphasises clarity, a Mediterranean character and a connection to the terroir: whites that express freshness and sunny aromas, and reds characterised by structure, fruit and spicy notes, always with the aim of showcasing Calabria’s wine-growing heritage through a contemporary interpretation that remains true to its roots.
