Tenuta Sette Ponti
Tenuta Sette Ponti is situated in Tuscany, in the Valdarno di Sopra, along the historic route linking Florence and Arezzo – from which the estate takes its name, linked to the bridges over the Arno. The estate is situated in an ancient wine-growing area, first recognised in the Grand Duke’s decree of 1716 and now recognised under the Valdarno di Sopra DOC designation, alongside the broader identity of IGT Toscana wines. Its location in Castiglion Fibocchi, with its hillside exposures and the influence of breezes from the Pratomagno, promotes gradual ripening and a natural balance between structure, freshness and aromatic complexity. The vineyards are managed organically, with a focus on soil vitality, biodiversity and agronomic practices aimed at reducing environmental impact. Grape selection and care throughout the growing cycle are central to the pursuit of unspoilt raw material, capable of accurately expressing the character of the terroir. Sangiovese remains the defining variety, complemented by Bordeaux varieties which, in the Valdarno, find conditions suited to interpretations with a Tuscan character. In the cellar, the approach favours spontaneous or gently assisted fermentation, measured interventions and ageing in a variety of containers – including steel, concrete, ceramic and wood – chosen to suit the wine’s balance. Tenuta Sette Ponti’s style combines depth with expressive clarity, producing wines recognisable for their elegance, tannic structure, fruity vigour and ability to blend terroir with a contemporary vision.
