Tenute Ledda
Tenute Ledda is a Sardinian wine producer based between Mejlogu and Gallura, two areas that offer a glimpse into the island through their very different soils, altitudes and natural conditions. The project interprets Sardinia through the concept of ‘cru’, focusing on vineyards situated in distinct settings: Monte Santu, in the heart of Mejlogu; the volcanic Monte Pelao; and the Matteu area in Arzachena, within the Gallura region of the Vermentino di Gallura DOCG. In Mejlogu, a region of Logudoro with a long-standing tradition of viticulture and fruit-growing, the vineyards benefit from sunlight, wind and soils in which limestone, sandy and clayey components help to define the character of the grapes. Here, grape varieties such as Moscato, Vermentino, Cannonau and Muristellu thrive in a landscape marked by ancient traces and a strong agricultural identity. The volcanic slopes of Pelao add a more energetic and mineral character, resulting in warm, lively and well-structured wines. In Gallura, by contrast, the vineyards face the sea and are nestled amongst granite, sea breezes and Mediterranean scrub: conditions that foster a clear, terroir-driven expression of Vermentino. Tenute Ledda’s style is characterised by a desire to express specific terroirs, highlighting natural contrasts and Sardinian continuity without homogenising the island’s diverse character.
